Take the human out of the loop. You'll specify, integrate, and tune the automation layer of the facility—autonomous yard equipment, robotic sorting, and automated gate, scale, manifest, and billing. Elijah McCoy automated the railroad in 1872; you'll automate the waste hub in 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- •Specify, integrate, and commission automated sorting and material-handling systems
- •Deploy and tune autonomous yard equipment (hostlers, loaders) on a fixed-corridor site
- •Integrate gate, scale, manifest, and billing into a single automated flow
- •Work with vendors (sorting robotics, autonomy, sensors) on deployment and support
- •Build the controls and data integrations that feed FreightGuard.ai
- •Measure automation ROI and prioritize the highest-impact deployments
- •Document systems and train operators on automated workflows
Required Qualifications
- •5+ years in industrial automation, controls, robotics, or systems integration
- •Experience with PLCs, sensors, SCADA, and material-handling or sorting systems
- •Ability to scope and commission automation projects end to end
- •Comfort working on an active operational site, not just in a lab
- •Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Preferred Qualifications
- •Experience with recycling/MRF sorting robotics (AMP, Greyparrot, Glacier, etc.)
- •Exposure to autonomous yard trucks or autonomous off-highway equipment
- •Background in computer vision or sensor fusion for industrial settings
- •Experience integrating operational data into software platforms
