Be part of the founding operations crew at McCoy's Detroit transfer station. You'll operate loaders, excavators, and material handlers on the tipping floor and yard, moving and consolidating waste for rail transload. Steady work, modern equipment, and a real shot to grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities
- •Operate wheel loaders, excavators, and material handlers safely and efficiently
- •Move, consolidate, and load material on the tipping floor and in the yard
- •Support transload of material into railcars and outbound trailers
- •Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
- •Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- •Follow all safety and environmental procedures
- •Work alongside automated systems as they come online
Required Qualifications
- •2+ years operating heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, or material handlers)
- •Strong safety record and commitment to safe operation
- •Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a crew
- •Comfortable working outdoors and in a physical environment
- •Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- •Experience in waste, recycling, scrap, or aggregates
- •Experience around rail or transload operations
- •CDL or willingness to obtain one
- •Basic equipment maintenance skills
